HEY LEADERS, WITHOUT LOOKING DOWN AT THE FLOOR…

…can we tell which foot our partner has her (or his) weight on?

While dancing, are we keeping track of not just our own steps, but our partner’s as well?

Why do it? Why, when we’ve got so many of our own dance issues to think about (posture, form, the music, the line of dance, etc) should we expend the extra brain power to also keep track of our partner’s steps and weight transfers?

Perhaps it would be more work. But it would also make it easier to see that all those technical elements we labor to keep track of have a clearer purpose.

When we can’t make tango less difficult, maybe we can make it more meaningful.
