Are we focusing on our tango, or preoccupied with avoiding mistakes? Probably both.
Too much of the latter, however, often involves tensing the shoulders as we attempt to make every step precise.
Precision is important, but it doesn’t require any more effort than is necessary. We need just enough to define each movement, and exerting too much control just takes the fun out of everything.
The dance won’t descend into complete chaos if we let go a little more. And we’ll be surprised at just how much we can let go.
