There’s never going to be enough space to tango. Chances are, we’re going to complain that either the dance floor’s too small, there’s too many people, or both.
But since milongas were designed to be crowded, having “enough space” isn’t the point. Are we making things enjoyable for our partners? Are we paying attention to the energy of the room and working with it? Are we being careful not to crash into other couples?
Instead of wondering: “Why can’t the dance floor be bigger?”
Why not ask ourselves: “How can this situation make me a better dancer?”
