Think of a famous painting.
What we don’t think of are all the sketches and rejected early drafts of that piece. In all likelihood, the artist spent a ton of time learning from mistakes and overcoming numerous moments of frustration before completing that now famous final product.
Learning tango involves a similar process. Like the stages of creating a painting (or any other piece of art), we can’t be afraid to jump right in and start making mistakes. Errors are inevitable, but learning from them is the foundation upon which we create our personal masterpieces. While learning tango, being afraid of mistakes is, in and of itself, a huge mistake.
